I feel for you on this one cause that is soooo young. But you are right, they are nature made, and they come with their own set of instincts built right in for survival.

problem being, will the milk be enough? I assume that bag will be sooo little on her.

My Nubian, Scarlett...might surprise us yet and go this month. Her udder is growing by the day, as is her tummy. Her vulva is also elongated and pink. 1/27 is the last possible date for her to kid by the first buck, and 2/9 for the second buck (this according to the breeding memos from her prev owner).

And WHY did I order baby chicks for the first week in Feb? Because I wanted to be pulling my hair out!

Scarlet certainly is getting big and so are those other girls hope you get some does out of her she is beautiful I love big goats they are bigger and easier for me to milk toggs an allpines are my favorites but I love nubians. She should make some beautiful babies.

old timers say put some vinegar in the drinking water and it throws does....the doe chromosomes work well in acidic conditions. So they say that vinegar in the water makes for acidic conditions while breeding, giving you more chance of does.

does it work....I don't know, just what the old timers say..LOL

I emailed Scarlett's photos to her breeder/prev owner. They give her about another month based on her udder

. Which means three things: A) her udder is going to be HUGE B) her belly is going to be HUGE C) her kids just might be moonspotted!

In reference to the umm... rear end shots, what else besides enlargment of the udder indicts that a doe is about to give birth soon? Does anything else enlarge... ?
