Pregnant Goat or No?

Just wanted to update: No babies. Not pregnant. The people I purchased her from lied to make a sale. Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve bitten. Pretty frustrating. I just sent my other doe off to be bred. Hate that I’m not there to oversee things. I’m a bit paranoid after all the money I’ve lost trying to start a breeding farm and never having any success due to liars and cheats. We’ll see... I plan to pay for a blood pregnancy test when able on my current doe. I’ll probably start a new thread for her soon .

Just a comment. This is something people don't think about but need to take into consideration. There is a difference between buying an animal that is guaranteed pregnant and one that is sold as just being exposed to the male. In the case of the former, there is some compensation if the female turns out to not be pregnant, but in the latter case, the female is sold as being serviced by the male but there is no guarantee as to whether or not she took. This needs to be hashed out between buyer and seller at the time of the sale. Too often it isn't and there ends up being bad feelings on both sides.

Agreed. But I was told she was bred. Had run with a buck for months and was seen being bred the first month she was put with him. If seller was telling the truth, that doe should have been bred as Nigerian dwarfs cycle every 21 days. Either that or the doe is defective and unbreedable.
