I've got two pregnant Nigerian Dwarf goats. I think they're on about day 137 of their pregnancies, but that's assuming that the day I saw the buck finally get a successful mating was the day they conceived.
Anyway, they've been slowing down a lot recently. Most of the time I go into their stall they're both laying down, relaxing, I got them to come out today for some sun and grass. One of them had a fair amount of water leak out of her. I didn't see it, my daughter did, but she says it looked like clear water tinged with a little yellow or orange. She said the goat didn't seem to notice, and just continued to stand there eating.
I think it's a little early for her to be going into labor. Could that have been her water breaking? If so, is that dangerous for her kids? I'd hate for her to have preemies, but I'm pretty sure that after the water breaks the kids need to be born soon. We watched her for a while after that, and she didn't show any signs of being in labor. There's just been some mucus hanging down every now and then.
Sorry if I'm worrying needlessly. We've never had anything give birth before.

So they can lose their plug a few days before delivering so I'd guess she is farther along than that. Keep an eye on her appetite because they sort of stop eating the day they'll deliver in my experience.
Go read on fiasco farms website...tons of good info there!

Thanks, I'll keep a real close eye on her. Fiasco Farms is a great site, but sometimes it's information overload!
