I switched to the chick nipple waterer because my hen is scratching and kicking my other waterer over. I’ve been watching and training them to use it and I have seen every chick and mom hen use it ( 3 chicks) but momma hen seems like it takes her forever to quench her thirst and the water level isn’t moving much. Is this not enough “flow” for her. Is this adequate? I have been putting the other one in there occasionally throughout the day to make sure they are all getting enough but mostly worried about momma. Anyone else do this?

There should be an air intake in/near the top...maybe it's too small? Make sure it isn't clogged, and maybe enlarge it....or loosen the lid.

Ok I’ll look for that thanks! I’m going to watch the waterline today and try to let them just use that. I’ve messed with it and from my perspective it is working correctly. What’s a good level? Maybe too low and momma can’t get her head down there good?

Right, you might want to raise it up high enuf for the hen, and put something like a block of wood or brick for the shorties to stand on. That way they can reach heads up to drink...
