Premier1 poultry fencing neighbor complaint PICS ADDED

I'm with horsejody! Having said that, our coop is so surrounded by trees it was many weeks before our neighbors even knew we had it! Maybe you have a tree shortage between your property lines.

Ooooo! I like that idea too, horsejody. Kill 'em with kindness. You are within the rules, so tough cookies.

I'm sorry but, your house, your chickens, your way. You don't have to tell her to suck an egg...don't tell her anything at all. Quite frankly it's not their darn business. I HATE busybody neighbors who think they have a say in how you run your property.

I think you ought to tell her that it's only temporary until your herd of Bison arrive and you can have your massive property wide rusty fence arrives...and don;t worry about the smell- I"m sure "the woods" will absorb it.

I love your SPUNK! We live very much in the country--there is a farm on both ends of the subdivision (horses, no less). There are very very few restrictions--no boats/trailers/broken down cars parked for more than 30 days, no pigs, no cattle. Pretty much anything else goes. Another neighbor has complained about a half dozen things, but none of them are against the bylaws--she doesn't like that I don't have a brick front detached garage (not required), she doesn't think my husband should park his S-10 pickup in the driveway because it has his business logo on it, she doesn't like our fence (it's plastic, right--bylaws say plastic fencing is OK), and she doesn't like that we "spread chicken sh~t all over the place" (we put our bedding on our garden and compost it--and we've only done it once). She even called the Dept of Nat Resources to report my "mishandling of animal feces," and their recommendation for chicken bedding? "Compost it or spread it in garden and flower beds." Score one more for me. These dummies didn't read their bylaws, clearly, and now they want their preferences to carry the day. No can do. Not me. They're messin' with the wrong feisty Italian. I have a law degree, and I know what this stuff means. It's starting to look like I've got more idiots than chickens to manage.

Thanks, everyone for all of your support, humor, and good advice--I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!

So she don't like NATURAL fertilizer. I bet she is one that puts enough chemicals on her lawn and garden to kill a whole herd of elephants.

I know what you mean .I have the same kind of neighbour ,but I have 10 acres and his property is in the back side of mine . He complains about everything and I just do not listen to his crap.. What is so bad is I live in the country As long as you are not breaking any laws than your ok and to me it looks great .

Sorry you have such a sucky neighbor. I would plant things along the edge of the road to block her view of your backyard. That will keep her from sticking her nose in your business as much.

This fence is great I use it for my pigs and goats. They get to move around the yard and eat anything we confine them with. Keeps the yard work down too.

I wouldn't consider her much of a friend:( I think it is slightly ug, but if it's within the bylaws, etc, she CAN go suck an egg. Get some fast growing coniferous tree, shrub, or bush, and she'll never have to see it again. Good luck! <3

I live in a neighborhood of 5 acre lots and have a neighbor that likes to have a few junk cars next to their shop. I installed my large chicken coop between my window and their mess.
We do have a few cc and r's that would allow me to force them to clean things up, but the coop and a few well placed trees was an easier solution.

I think the fence looks just fine but I think the complainer's brick work on their house and busy roof pattern on their shingles conflict with one another.

I don't think they have enough to do, if they were busy they wouldn't have time to mind your business.

a few junk cars
My husband calls those car flowers, because the neighbor doesn't have a garden but these old cars show up at different times of the year and they are always different colors. Hence our neighbor's version of flowers
