Premiers electric poultry netting....

Quote:
Okay, we just bought several rolls of the PermaNet doublespike for poultry. You would think that if you spend $158 per 100 feet of fence you would get quality.

Well, they passed their mistakes on to us. So... beware.

Below is a picture of a bad factory splice on a new net.

We have been using the 42" tall net for two weeks with young chicks. The 3-mile solar fencer slowly lost charge trying to keep up with 250' fence during this period of cloudy weather so we switched to an AC charger. We used extra corner posts. We used additional step-in/spike posts inside the pen and wove a zigzag pattern of yellow plastic "Caution" tape all over to discourage the birds flying out and the hawks flying in (not sure it will work, got our fingers crossed). This morning I smelled skunk around the pen, but the fence seemed to work, no sign that it got in at all.

Watch the video on the premier website about installation, it goes really easy if you see and example first. If you are a smaller person, you may want to stick with the 80ish foot lengths, just lighter to handle. We'll be moving it to a new site this weekend.

So far we are really happy with it. We have had no quality problems. I wish it was not so VERY expensive, so far the most expensive chicken equipment we have purchased.
