Preparing for lockdown! Can I make paper towel boats?

Has anyone here ever made little 'paper towel boats'? I am folding paper towels into a little square with sides taped up. They are to help avoid the chicks playing soccer with the eggs and so they don't bump into each other as much.

Just checking to make sure it won't cause any problems I wouldn't be aware of.

Thanks!

If you do the carton hatching you could cut the individual cups apart to spread them out more in the bator too. That's what I am doing next time. I got mucky eggs around the ones that were hatching this last time. I think it would be better if they have room to get on out rather than hatch and rest on the other eggs surrounding them.

You can, and I do if I have just a few eggs hatching. It helps keep hatch gunk in place. There is a pic of them in the boat in my incubation thread. It is a sticky or can be found via "my page" under my avatar.

I put mine in cupcake cases just making sure I didn't block the vents or anything- it seemed to work quite well for seperating and : catching mess but didn't restrict the hatching. Unless one hatches way before the others and really starts crashing around- they are not sturdy enough for that.
