Preparing for Winter with 6 week chicks

I know it may seem crazy to start planninfg but in the Pacific NW the temp drops and as fall nears what are things needed for Fall and Winter care? My girls will be 5 months old around December. What goes on the list of COLDER needs and things to do differant in Winter?

I would say good bedding, possibly a heat lamp if it gets too cold. If below freezing you will have to make sure water does not freeze over for long periods of time. I'm sure there are quite a few more things but these are the ones that come to mind first.

keep the water liquid.
have no drafts.
keep the hens dry.

but you still need good ventilation.

they are fine in cold weather.
