Preparing to begin!

My husband and I retired to a new state, new climate, and new to living on acreage. We've never raised chickens but have always wanted to get back to our agricultural roots. We both grew up in farming areas but not on farms. So I'm here to learn as much as I can to prepare for our little flock.

We live in the high desert in Utah on a bluff. This means coooold winters and dry, HOT summers and, for us specifically, wind, wind, and more wind. Since we've only been here 10 months, we're still learning how to keep anything alive in this climate.

I'm hoping to connect with others on here that can give me tips. I'm so excited to be part of this group.
