Hi, I will be receiving my eggs on tomorrow, and I want to make sure I'm doing everything I can for a good hatch rate.
1. The shipper said to unbox them and let them rest "point down" for 24-48 hours. So my plan is to put them in an egg carton point down for that time frame.
2. After that time I will lay them on their side in the incubator and turn it on.
3. Hurry up and WAIT for the magic to happen.

The incubator will be in my classroom on a shelf for my students to observe and journal. Are there any steps that I missed? Any suggestions.

Tell me how! I pick them up from the post office tomorrow
I personally am using a reliable meat thermometer that I found in my cupboard. I got a new incubator for Xmas, so I put the thermometer in the incubator to make sure it was calibrated. The incubator turned out to be waaaaay too hot, so I kept adjusting the settings until the better thermometer read the right temp. As for humidity, you can buy a hygrometer on amazon.
