pressure treated hen boxes?

I am about to build several hen boxes for bourbon red's turkey hens, I was wondering due to the search for design on hen boxes that not one of them was built using pressure treated wood. Is there any reason, or health concerns long term that I am unaware of?
Also any simple yet strong designs turkey hen boxes anyone like to share for ideas for me.

With the new pressure treatment chemicals they're supposed to be non-toxic unless you burn them and breath in the smoke. I don't believe them. I don't use pressure treated except where wood is required to touch the ground and where prolonged contact with skin will not occur. IMO, use old pallets. They won't rot for a LOOOONG time due to being hard wood not pine.

Turkeys boxes? I don't have an answer for you. Sorry. From what I've seen, just a little bigger. In the wild nests are on the ground and in very protected places like a briar patch. I wouldn't think they'd be any different than a chicken box.

Try the Turkey Forum . I would not use PT for nests.

Chemical are still toxic just a different kind of toxic...pallets can be chemically treated too and not all are hardwood.

Not sure the risks are well known...hard to find good info..... but I choose to avoid the stuff where ever possible, especially around my food.
