Pressure treated shavings in run?

I am making a door for my barn and I have a garbage can full shavings from planing the wood. Could I put it in chicken run? Bad idea?

The trouble with borate pressure treated wood is that the borate does not penetrate very far into the wood. So, only a few percent of the board has any borate. Besides, borate is no more toxic than table salt to chickens, dogs and other people.

I didn't know this. We're using pressure treated on our build and my Mom keeps burying the dust shavings from drilling and sawing, as our "helpers" are fascinated by it and keep pecking around.
So is it safe for them to eat?
