Is it ok to use pressure treated wood to build my coop out of? i have most of what i will need to build my 4x8 coop but it is all pressure treated wood. Wasnt sure if the chickens would peck at the wood and it cause any health problems. Thanks!

I'm no expert, but agree with chickens not trying to eat lumber.
Maybe avoid making roosts out of treated lumber, but I'm not worried about the rest.

I mean heck, My homes have always been made of treated lumber.
Think my chickens will be ok, ...

or at least as ok as me.
Poor chickens....

Ok no more treated lumber!

Thanks for the repliles! i was hoping to hear that it was ok to use. its cheaper per board and i already have most of what i will need.

Put me down as a user of treated lumber for the runs, but not the coop and certainly not the roosts.

During construction of the run my ungloved hands would get irritated by exposure to the treated wood, but as long as my hens don't go using my circular saw and try to expand their quarters, they should be all right

My secured run is 100% treated lumber.

The 8 BOs have has access to the run since they were 2 months old.

All BOs have survied, none of them have any health problems or two head and give 4 to 5 eggs daily.
