Well, I'm truly hoping that Barbara is accurate as finding a home.foe a roo isnt t
e easiest and they arent petmitted in NYC. Fingers crossed. Turns out she was bought at a live poultry place, which we called. The guy want to knowledgeable (chickens need a mate to have eggs...won't see eggs til about two years old...etc.)
But he did say it was a hen and the birds they sell are about 6 to 8 weeks old and Elvire had her for 1.5 weeks which makes her 9.5 to 10 weeks old max. Yet she definitely looks older than that in height and girth compared to my two silver laced Wyandottes which are 11.5 weeks old now.
I'm leaning towards a Cream Lender also with her single comb and yellow legs. But I'm not ruling out Euskal Oiloa. I will get a better pic tomorrow to post. Thanks to all for your comments.
