PRETTY covered run, is it possible?

Here's a thought: How about framing a support for a roof made out of dog enclosure chain link fencing? The eagles MIGHT land on it, but I don't think anything but a grizzly or Kodiak could rip THAT open. IT would also be sturdy enough to cover for shade in the summer.

BTW,We don't have any eagles here in IL, just Red Tailed Hawks, some...small hawk (can't remember the name of it,) and owls. There are, however, bald eagles at least part of the year in Keokuk, IA, a few hours west of us.

Thank you Patandthechickens ( Pat) for the nice words about my Run. I think my run is very good looking

oooh! these are great!

It is also kinda what I was thinking, to make it pretty it has to be made like a greenhouse (or other garden structure) but just use wire instead or glass.

Any other pictures?

Thank you so much!

Some more ideas: Make the roof /\\ shaped. Put painted picket fencing along the bottom of it. Plant some pretty but chicken-safe plants along the bottom of it. Paint the wood two different colors - the uprights one color, the wood under the roof a nice stain to match your coop.

Hang hanging baskets from the eaves with herbs or other chicken safe plants in them.

Hang cute signs on the wire, hand painted in the same color scheme as your coop.

Put a little rock area and two rocking chairs and a table out by the run to make it look like an inviting place.

Use a couple of tasteful chicken art pieces near where the coop and run meet.

Look at pretty gardens and fences in the garden mags and then adapt those ideas to the chicken run.

Sounds like a lot of fun!
