Hi all - yes, I know, had to use eggcited! I'm new to this site and new to chicken herding? keeping? 
And I'm looking forward to sharing my new adventure with new friends. I've learned a lot from this site already. I ordered pullets back in December and expect to pick them up in June. In the meantime, I'll be enlisting a few friends to help me build a Wichita Coop to house the new chickens. I like the esthetics of the coop and safety aspects. As to chickens, I wanted to be sure that I selected hens with interesting backgrounds, that would be friendly with the family, that would be ok with west coast weather and that would provide a colourful egg basket. The new residents of the coop will be a Barnevelder, Olive Egger, Americauna, RBL Wyandotte and a pair of Polish hens. I can't wait - there is so much to learn, so thank you for including me in this group!
