We're about to leave the cute little baby stage, and enter the half-feathered ugly little bird stage. I'm eager to get to the point where we can tell how many of each gender we have. I have 6 pullets (I hope) and 4 straight runs. I'm bracing myself for the possibility of 5 hens and 5 Roos. Yikes. Next year I'm buying sexed chicks only.

People always told me to be prepared for the ugly chick stage, but I waited and waited and never saw it! They’re adorable, what breeds?

We are just now entering this stage! I’m eager to see the end result.
