Preventing dirty water!

Hello,
Here is a picture or my heated water dispenser. Love it and my only issue is hens sometimes jumping on top and poop going in the water. Would love to see pictures of your similar water dispensers where you were able to prevent this issue. I'm sure I could put something on top that would be simple but need insperation haha. Thx!

Can you make a roof to for over the top of the water? Maybe take a 5 gallon pail lid, cut it in half and connect the two halves to make a peaked roof. This way they can’t roost on the lid.
Command strips makes a Velcro strip that you can continue to remove the object and reattach, I would try using one of those to connect the lid to the waterer.
