Around how much is it to care for 5-10 guinea fowl a year?

( including Food, shelter and more)

If you have free range type area, the cost of guinea can be less than half than that of a chicken :) Guinea prefer insects and seeds over chicken food, and they don't even need a coop, so that can cut a LOT of costs, plus they add in the benefit of being a free security system, so for me personally, my guineas PAY for the small amount of food they snag from the chooks ;)

You do need somewhere secure to pen them at night to keep them safe and narrow down your daily egg hunt. We got a secondhand chain link dog run, roofed and walled with tarps, which worked well enough (but if you do this, look for one with a roof framework!)
