Why are hatchery eggs more expensive that hatchery chicks!

I would think an egg would be cheaper than a live chick... what am I missing here?

I went to check it out, to be sure, as I thought they were selling them in batches, like 6 at a time or something, but no, they were ea. I have no idea why. I think others sell more than one, like 6 for say $8, then 12 for + 4 etc... or something like that (price just an example) I agree, it's pretty expensive, especially since shipped eggs are a big risk!
