Hello. Princess is a 4 month old Red Star. Well, that's what the lady who sold her to us said. She's the smallest of her group, all the same age. She had strange wounds on her back about 2 months ago, so we separated her from the flock, thinking it was from attacks. We just put everyone back together this weekend. No one bothers her, she mostly keeps to herself. She was separated for 2 months, able to see everyone, but no one could attack her.

She has a new large disturbing wound between her wings. It looks old. It has no particular smell. Is there an ointment or treatment I should be thinking about?

Thank you.

Did you tend to her wounds while she was separated out?

She may have had another one you didn't notice, perhaps she's been picking at it a bit. It looks like it's closing up and healing.

I'd swab it with Chlorhexidine, let that dry, then apply a very thin coat of triple antibiotic ointment. Tend to it daily.

Do you mean repeat the clean then apply antibiotic daily?
