Probable laying hen--a few questions

Well how long have her and the drake been back together mating she could have been out there making a nest follow her I had to do that 3 different times with my old English game bantam hen it’s not easy but it can be done.its def not safe here for my females to brood out side of their houses.

They've been together since July 27th. I couldn't tell when he was chasing and mounting her if there was any mating, and since then I haven't seen them in the water or anything. I was figuring I'd have to follow her; I'm going out there again to see if she's still out there.

I definitely want to try and get her to move nests a little closer by where I can take the eggs, but even if not I hopefully can follow her and figure out where she is laying so I could take them then.

Well, lo and behold I go outside to check up on my hen again, and I find my drake on top of her... Perhaps he IS the cause to her disappearing... But I still am not sure.

I stood there for a few minutes watching her preen afterwards, but she made no move to go off on her own so I headed inside to post t his and get some dinner.

Dunno if this helps anyone figure out if its a nest or not, but I'll just leave this here and go eat.
