Probably A Dumb Question

Oreo, the one that died, was a barred rock. I also have 1 rhode island red, 1 black sexlink and 1 red sexlink. I've only had them since Oct. of 2007. They were not chicks when I got them. The man I got them from guessed they were about 1 to 1 1/2 yrs. I have, in the past, given them lettuce, apples, unbuttered/unsalted popcorn, mealworms, but stopped that at least 3wks. ago to see if maybe that was the problem. Still....runny poo. Although, I didn't give them those things every day. Just once in awhile. Last Thurs. I mixed up cooked white rice, organic plain yogurt & chopped hard boiled egg. I did that for 3 days and it did seem to help. I just started to give it to them again this morning. I've only let them free range about 4 times now since I've had them and that was just in the past 3 wks. or so. Their poo is DEFINATELY not normal most of the time. I got some pics this morning but I have to wait for DH to download them for me off our camera. He's gonna do it when he gets home from home tonight. I'll definately post them for you.

may be some type of mild enteral dysbacteriosis... keep them on the live culture yogurt ... offer oyster shell free choice and give them four drops of POLYVISOL once a day in beak for a week then taper off the next to cover the most obvious eventual deficiencies (cant hurt might help)
The above is just general support measures to try and stave off any secondary complications.

THANK YOU!!!! You are awesome!

Any suggestions on where I should buy the Polyvisol from?
You probably think I'm a nut, but I swear, if I were rich, I'd buy you a plane ticket to come check out my chickens!!
