Probably wrong, but thinking out loud about the TSC “BRs”

Here’s all 4 of my BRs that I got from TSC last March. Yes, I got them at the same time, same place, and from the same bin. They were the only breed in the bin too. Yeah, Nelly ended up being the only pullet out the four “BRs”. She’s a good mom, though.
I'd love to have that brute hanging out in your lap! He's amazing!

Yeah, Burt’s the chillest chicken ever despite being the top dog of the pecking order. My dad is the one in the picture with him. He does attack my dad’s boots whenever he wears a certain pair ( only bites at the shoe laces ).

Burt will be a year old March 29th. Last time I weighed him was in August and he was 10lbs then, so I’d definitely put him at a solid 13 now.

He's awesome. Been shopping for one. Right now I have a Dominique that's pretty dang mellow. I'll keep him till he decides to get stupid.

He has some weird feathers here and there. Some are orange and some have a different pattern altogether, so I think he’s mixed with a Rhode Island Red. Hard to tell, though. Hoover’s does sell black sex-link, so I think he got into the BR shipment somehow.

Interesting.

Hoovers must have mixed something into their lines though, perhaps it was sussex, giving it the same appearance as the Kosher King, seeing as Kosher Kings were originally developed from Sussexs and Barred Plymouth Rocks.
Just a thought, but what if they were mixed with Silver Penciled Rocks? The hackle coloring on the weird rocks looks similar to a SPR, and a lot of them have some sort of lacing on the breast.
