I'm curious if anyone else treats their flock with probiotics?

My oldest son works for Royal Canin dog food. They are one of the largest pet food manufacturers in the world and do a tremendous amount of research of developing feeds to improve your pets overall health. Probiotics play an important role in their feeds.

After a long discussion about the merits of add probiotics to an animals diet, and a lot of internet searching for the benefits of using them, I have started adding probiotics to the water of my birds. From everything I have read I think that it can improve the overall health of your flock and increase their resistance to other maladies. I now mix probiotic powder in their drinking water.

I put probiotics with electrolytes in the water of all my babies up to 2 weeks old then switch to ACV. I had several die when I just did sugar water and none since I started the other.

Whenever I get a sick chicken I isolate and give them the probio/lyte water too...3 out of 3 times they got better!
