Problem Rooster!

I agree! The most I've ever gotten for any Roo, was 10.00 And most only bring 7.50
I sell most at the sale barn here and have never heard of 30.00 much less 55.00
But let us know how it goes if you would.

You can probably 'cure' him of his egg-eating tendencies in the same way that you can stop hens from eating eggs. There are several different methods, but one I've found to work is this: I lock the chicken up in a pen for several days (NOT with another egg laying hen). In the cage or pen, I place several fake eggs, that are filled with either rocks or anything else the chicken will not want to eat, and will hopefully find disgusting. Just having them locked up for a couple weeks or so away from any real eggs seems to make them forget about eating eggs entirely. May not work for your rooster, but if you want to keep him, you can either try that or any of the other methods to stop him egg eating.
I guess if you're selling him, whoever buys him can try to 'cure' him.

If I had witnessed a roo eating MY eggs,

he would have had his worthless head twisted off his worthless neck. Who's eating who NOW Mr. Roo?

I hope you were joking about that.

It's not like he's maliciously eating eggs: he's probably not even really thinking about what he's doing in the little brain of his, so killing him out of anger would be....uh, kinda evil.

But even so, I hear ya. The little buggers can sometimes push you to thinking some pretty evil thoughts.

I think you should try and cure the rooster of his egg eating habits, then maybe sell him, or give him to someone who's experienced and really knows how to cure him. From what I've read, there are ways, and everyone deserves a second chance.

One of my hens used to be a bad egg-eater from what the former keeper tells me, but now you could never tell, and she's one of the sweetest hens I own....

Dont sell him, thats just passing your problem onto someone else. His new owner will be delighted with a new bird and then find out it eats eggs. Not cool.

Yesterday I when I went out to feed them I got 3 old golfballs and painted them the same color as the eggs. I then put them in the nesting box. Today when I got home and checked 4 eggs there was 2 uneaten eggs sitting next to the golf balls.

So guss ill get some more and put then in the rest of the boxes. If this dose work ill keep him till some eggs hatch and then ill get rid of him and let yall know what I price I get rid of him for. Ill try to keep this up dated on the progress i get.

Thought id share this for anyone else out there with a similar problem.
