At 6:00 p.m. last night we started lockdown. The temp had been at 99.5 to 99.9 (seldome ever hit 100), humidity 30%. I removed the turner, put the eggs in the tray section of 2 egg cartons, added water and put the eggs in. I noted then the temp was about 96. something but didn't look again since it always drops a touch when I open it. I looked again this morning and the humidity is 57% but the temp is only 97.7. I increased the thermostat a little and waited. I did this several times before I had to go to work and the temp didn't come up. Again at lunch I increased it again and waited an hour. Still 97.7. A small glass thermometer that came with the bator is reading the same. It is a Hovabator with fan (don't recall the model off the top of my head). Will the cooler temps delay hatching? Stop hatching? Kill them? Help.

Thanks in advance.

Since you made it this long at the proper temp. I really don't think is will be much of a problem. It could delay it a day if any. Just keep an eye on the temp since you turned it up a couple of times, it may shoot up high and that will be a problem. Good luck.
