Ok. I am not the brightest nor dimmest bulb.... but I am having a heck of a time getting the bottom piece of the waterer to separate from the top that holds the water. It screwed on firmly when i filled it the other day.... and now, the plastic tabs are just not sliding out. Is this normal? It has been a while since I've had a large one like this. Thank you!

I had two of those and the one was a bear. One time I sloshed all the water out of it and held it between my legs upside-down so I could work my way around the base and find the sweet spot to unscrew it.

Is it cold there? Maybe warm it up a bit? You have tried rocking it a bit from side to side while lifting?
It was maybe 43? North florida.

I Googled this to death.... I can only think it was the vacuum? I did exactly what you suggested to see how it would 'like' to be moved. 😑 I finally just set it right side up and twisted w my right hand while I fiddled with the plastic tabs with my left. It finally gave way.

I have had dozens of these and Holy cow this just drove me nuts. I imagine it will get easier in time. I'd rather have it too tight than leaky.

I appreciate your response!

I was really afraid of cracking it i had my knees cranked down so hard. 😂 Alas, I sweet talked it just enough (the cussing kind) and she gave up and separated. Lol. Thank you for your help!!

Well you're not supposed to squeeze it like a thigh master
Seriously, if you squeeze it too tight you will only make it harder to unscrew the base. You just want to get a different grip on it.

Mine never did loosen up. I just stopped screwing it together all the way. It's still going to create a vacuum when you flip it over for use.

Glad you got it apart. I know how frustrating it can be.

It is funny... I filled it again and it was fine. I wonder if it was empty vs having some water still in it. Its a mystery. Lol.
