First of all let me say that I know this section is dedicated to chickens but I had no luck in the geese subforum so I thought to give it a try, you guys have more experience than me and they are all birds afterall. If this is against the rules I appologize. I'll paste the content:

This morning I found one of the geese being lethargic. Most of the day she sits down and looks around. She didn't eat anything but drinks a lot of water. I checked her crop and I can't feel anything wrong.

What should I do? She is 1 year old in april. We lost another goose 6 months ago in the same way, lethargic during the day and died over night. So I'm worried.

I noticed that her poop is orange and white, watery with a few tiny bits of solid. (earlier it was dark green with yellow liquid)

I gave her charcoal in case she ate something bad and some vitamins.

Again, sorry if I'm breaking the rules by posting about goose problems.

Have you checked her for being egg bound or impacted crop issues?

Can't feel any eggs. Her crop is normal as far as I can tell. It's really hard to feel it right with all the feathers.

And now that you mentioned eggs, I just realized she never layed one. All the others did and still do, but none from this one.

I know relatively next to nothing about geese, but egg binding treatment is the same. Try soaking her in warm water, this often relaxes them enough to pass egg. I know you can give liquid calcium to help geese,in chickens we suggest either tums or calcium tablets or liquid calcium, this often helps pass egg within an hour. Can you feel a hard mass in abdomen area?

Here is a link for ducks/geese,scroll down to egg binding.

I can't feel anything down there. Should I try the warm water regardless or is it just unnecessary stress?

They only way to check for an egg in a goose is to check inside the vent, they're just too big to feel it from the outside, IMO. Given the the color of her poop and her water consumption I would be more suspicious of a disease, bacterial infection and/or parasites. If she were mine and I couldn't take her to a vet I would bring her inside where it's warm as long as it didn't stress her out, do the exam, weigh her, worm her, start her on antibiotics, tube feed her and pray.

Your best bet is a trip to the vet.

She was a bit better this evening. She ate some dandelion leaves and even cleaned her feathers a bit. I hope these are good signs. If she is bad tomorrow too I'll talk to a vet. The weather is very nice outside and it's actually quite hot in the sun so I don't think that's a problem.
