We are currently dealing with a mite infestation. I first noticed them on my JG who is currently broody. She is isolated on her nest in a separate pen, but she does go out once a day for about 20 minutes to dust bathe etc. So yesterday I checked three of the birds from the rest of the flock, and I could clearly see the little crappers on one of my BR girls. So like with any contagious event, the entire flock will be treated for the infestation. All bedding/nesting material will be cleaned out and roosts and nest boxes will be sprayed down with MannaPro Poultry Protector. Each bird will be dusted with Permethrin Garden and Poultry dust.
