Problem with quack grass

I think I will try your mulching suggestion. I have too much for the litter "sifter". Thank you so much for your help.

Till it repeatedly for a while , don't give the cut roots a chance to start , Tilling will throw them on top so that they can dry out and die .It actually works fairly well , I have killed off huge areas by doing this .Also if your soil is very heavy ? then tilling ,soaking will kill them off as well , just cover the area with a tarp / poly and they will rot if it's hot enough
