Problem with turkeys stepping on eggs

My turkeys are starting to lay and they are laying the eggs in the open and stepping on them and breaking them. they have laid 4 eggs and broke two of them. I have two sheltered areas that are 4X4X2 for them to lay their eggs in but only one egg has been laid in those areas. They are one year old birds so I am hoping they will learn to lay their eggs in better places. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can build or put in with them for them to lay their eggs in?.

I have a nest box in my coop, however I have seen people put a roasting pan with hay in it and they have used it for their nests.
