Problems after lockdown?

So far I have 2 hatched, 5 external pips, but still 8 with nothing.

Not very good. I have 10 hatch, but they ALL died shortly after hatching. Don't know what's going on here.

How soon after hatching are they dying? I wonder about the eggs themselves. This incubator is pretty good. I just hatched 11 out of 15 shipped eggs from pretty far away. I add 1.5-2 oz of warm water at a time from the beginning. The humidity will usually rise to about 52-54% and start dropping within a few hours. By the next day around the same time it has always been around 22%-25%. I will usually leave it there for the rest of the day and then before I go to bed I will add 1.5-2oz of water again. I continue this for 18 days and then at lock down run it up to about 60%-65%. I have never hatched silkie eggs though. Very strange that they hatch and then die like that. Sorry I can't be of more help. I have my genesis set at 99.6.

Thank you. We haven't been able to figure it out, as I've done nothing different from this to my previous hatches.

I"m sorry to hear. :( Just wanted to add that I am having the same problem this year. :( I"m haivng healthy looking development, most make it to lock down, and then they either die at the very end or then pip and die. I had to help a baby out last night. It was ready too. It seems mine are developing at different rates? Some are ready and out a day early, some are not ready (still bleeding) 2 days late. It's very odd. I have a forced air incubator. I do dry incubation too. Seems some are fine, and some are shrink wrapped. Where are you located geographically?

ChickenPox: Don't take this the wrong way, I don't wish ANYONE bad luck, but I AM glad I'm not the only one. Sorry about your bad luck, too. I'm located in deep South Louisiana.

Oh no offence taken! I was hoping to try and make you feel (somewhat) better anyway by letting you know you aren't alone. I have hatched for years and have never had problems like this. I used to do Silkies as well (TRYING to get enough on the ground again now so I can start back over with them, but it's slow coming.) My Silkies were always a little more difficult to hatch.

I can take the blood rings and clears, but the ones that pip (and sometimes partially zip) and die are the worst. :( It makes me think I am doing something wrong. I've done this so long, I have no idea what might be going on. Some of the eggtopsies have revealed babies that pip and then rotate and I guess suffocate? I am not sure. But it stinks. :-/
