I have a couple quail eggs in the incubator and they are on day 18. I have candled the eggs since day 4 or 5 and have seen development and when i candled them 3 days ago there was a huge air bubble and the rest of the egg wasnt clear anymore so i was imagining that it was all chick. Am i wrong? All help is welcome

Yes, it should be all chick, though that doesn't mean they will hatch. Quail do not have the best hatch rate, even when not shipped, about 60% but usually I have so many eggs that I still get a good hatch.

Thanks for the help. My eggs were not shipped they were from my own Coturnix flock. and were only 1 day old when i put them in.

YA! My first quail chick hatched today:ya!!!!!!I left it in the incubator and will take it out tommorow. There is only one so far =[. im still happy though. And if it is the only one, what should i make it to live in? I only have BIG brooders for 100 chicks not for quail. Should i find a small cardboard box and put some hay and have the heat? And can i feed it my Turkey/gamebird food? And for baby quail, what should i use for water since it's to small to reach in the chick waterer? lol. Any help welcome!
