I have raised birds my whole life, but I tried mountains and albino chukars this year. I couldn't get either of them going, the birds seemed to die within 1 week, sometimes a little longer. slowly but surely they would all die. They looked very healthy and everything was running great, but I couldn't make them live. I raised adult mountains just fine, and I hatched numerous chicks from other species, but the mountains and Albinos couldn't and wouldn't live...
Does anyone have advise for me on how to raise them better?

Hi Dan~ I'm trying Chukars for the first time, in fact some are hatching right now. I sure don't want to lose them! May I ask, what are you feeding them, how warm are they, how much room do they have? I've heard that they are bad about piling, and that if they're too cramped they turn to canabalism... just wondering how they're dying?

The grey chukars are as easy to raise as chickens..The albinos usually have poor eyesite..For me the biggest problem with the Mountians is getting them to eat on their own....
