I have two buff geese in with my chicken flock. They get to free range during the day but get locked up safely at night. I seem to lose a leghorn every night and I'm starting to wonder if its because I have two male geese. Would they do that? Just beat up and kill chickens for no reason? It's ONLY the leghorn chickens they have been doing this to for months. A majority of the chickens killed had developed health issues though. They have almost all had issues upon examining them after death but some some seemed perfectly healthy, just dead from battery. Which makes me wonder if its the geese killing them or they're dying of natural causes and being picked at post mortem??

The ganders could be trying to mate with them and killing them in the process. I have a Muscovy drake who was imprinted on a chicken hen and will not mate with the duck hens because he thinks he is a chicken. He recently killed one of the hens by trying to mate her. I came out there and she was laying in the dirt and had her back feathers very ruffled up and she was covered in mud.
