Problems with pretty much everything at the moment

Hi at the moment I am having problems with pretty much everything related to posts - with the big exception of reading them! If I go to "quote" on a reply I get gobbly gook (technical term) Like this - I'm assuming its the programing code:

sorry the "quote" came out ok in the post except it kept some of the original and some of my new stuff - hope you can work it out.

I see the gobbly gook now and then but it usually resolves itself. Sometimes a "refresh" helps. IE just does not do well with this site. I understand some forums are completely incompatible with it. Check out the link in my sig and see if you can find anything else that will give it a kick start.
