processed 11 birds on Thursday

Well, I finally did it......I killed, cleaned and cut up 11 of my Ameracaunas and am very proud of myself! I have a freezer full of chicken and made homemade stock Saturday.

It's hard to do, but good for your freezer, good life skill, and good to understand where food actually comes from.

Thanks all, it's amazing how much less upsetting it is when you know the proper way to slaughter and you know that they won't be in pain long.

What method did you use to slaughter them?

I took hold of the legs with one hand, grabbed the neck with the other and pulled until the neck broke, then I put them on the ground (still holding the legs and putting my foot on the head) and cut the neck......it went really quickly.
