Hi all

Dressed the remaining 3 silver pencilled plymouth rock roosters a couple of days ago. Finally got this done over my Christmas vacation and between snow storms. The 3 weigh 18 lb, so averaged 6 lb each. These were May and June birds so were ~7 months old. I soaked them in ice water for 2 days and bagged them for the freezer tonight.

I am keeping 10 hens and 2 roosters. 6 of the pullets are laying and the rest should start later this month.

Happy New Year to all!

Hello Wyodreamer

I had more roosters than I needed, so gave some to my daughter to raise for meat and raised the rest myself.

I am keeping 2 roosters for breeding next spring and 10 hens. All but one are spprs. This is more of a hobby for me, but I really like the feathers on these birds, and love the fresh eggs.

Happy Winter!;)
