This morning I butchered my first meat bird today at 8 weeks. It went rather well culled it with a pellet gun and bleed him out by chopping head off with ax. Got the water to a 150 degrees and dippe him for 30-45 secs. The feathers came right off by hand nice and easy. Cleaned him all up and saved the giblets. Let him rest in cold water to let him cool and into the crockpot he went. I didnt weigh him but i think he was about 7 or 8 lb. Cant wait to try him im psyched

doing the rest of the roosters tomorrow.

well you obviously need some validation so CONGRADULATIONS!!!

Also one usually rests a chicken for a 1-3 days before eating. In the crockpot not sure it will matter. If the chicken is alittle tough to eat try resting next time you do the deed.

I processed 4 roos yesterday. The feathers came off nicely i did cornish rocks in the spring time they were nice and big I plan on doing more next year.
Congratz!!
