Processing Day Support Group ~ HELP us through the Emotions PLEASE!

I think it is the satellite and all these storms on the east coast, but why since yesterday I haven't a clue, it only rained a little in the afternoon, perhaps it was just thick with it idk, it worked for a few images and now it don't work again. no worries, will try this weekend.

Might be your internet do to the storms :) Mine does that sometimes... but my internet provider is not reliable.

I just uploaded a picture of my Black Penedesenca 7 week old pullet....Firefox version 21.....

btw I LIKE YOUR pENEDESENCA!
She thought flying around the room was much more fun than taking a picture!

I have her brooding with Blue Australorps and am hoping they will rub off on her. Penes are a handful but with the heat here I need Heat Hardy breeds!

The forecast is: 104 today, 110 tomorrow and 95 on Sunday!

Processed another two roos a few days ago. One very large pot of chicken vegetable soup and one even larger pot of just stock were made :) soup is gone and the stock is canned for future projects

They weighed in at about 3.5 lbs each, smallish :/
Not much breast meat but larger legs and thighs than the previous batch. My kids asked me mid meal if this was homegrown chicken..
I hesitated and then said yes.. they said its delicious!! :) it was a funny moment.

It is always interesting to see how kids respond to these kind of things. When my kids were small, we raised a couple of steers They knew that they would be butchered. We raised them on a bottle, and they named them Hamburger and Sirloin....Hamburger was so tame that my daughter could stick out her hand and he would suck her thumb. even when he was older. So naturally we were concerned about how she was going to react. After he was processed, we were sitting at the table having a burger for dinner, and she piped up and said, "Mom, is this Hamburger hamburger?" I told her it was, and she said,"He sure is good." We have chuckled many times over the years about that one. Kids need to know where their food comes from. It is a very valuable education that will serve them well.
