We are gaining more egg customers here. I already had to add a few more pullets and more roosts and nests to the coop.
Awesome! I've had a steady customer in recent months. A box a week. Hey, it's a start. We eat a lot of eggs, so we don't have a whole lot of extras. I still barter a box every now and again, just yesterday I got some comfrey roots for a box of eggs
Adding 2 nest boxes to the coop, since we have 19 birds (I always said we'd have 8-10.. I lied), 9 just started laying.
Waiting for my muscovy to hatch some babies.. any day now. Just watch me be a sap and all "Oh I can't eat these".... Oh well, worst case, I'll sell them
are these birds safe to eat? I'd hate to put them down and not use them. It's so heartbreaking. We split our remaining birds into 4 seperate groups away from each other to quarantine them for the next month. I'm praying no one else has it
I hope it will be a little quieter around here now for a little while, at least until my young males reach crowing age.
