Processing quail sized chickens?

I did not know that the growers culled the hens due to reduced growth rate. See learn something new everyday. I knew they were slower but not that much slower.
They want maximum return on $$ for feed invested. The hens sell well as "Game Hen", and the grower has more room for the males without moving them, win/win.

I do it. The smallest I ever did were banty cockerels, about 5 weeks old.

You don't get much meat, so some people think it isn't worth their time. You are the only one who can decide whether it's worth YOUR time.
x's 2 on that -- I have spent a lot of time hand-plucking surplus male ducks, I figured it was worth it to eat duck roasted in it's skin. I'm retired, my time is my own to waste however I want!
