we are not new to processing our birds but Im not an old hand either....and I have a birds are free range mostly I penned up the birds (1 turkey and 3 roos) that we processed and there were these lil bugs on them in the feathers....not lice cause you could rub them and squish them.......but they were tiny and rolly polly type but MINATURE!!!!....what are they and why do we have then and how do you get rid of them......or is that normal? I am sure we rinsed the carcus well after plucking but we also didnt scald this time because I dont like the wet tar and featherd look....any advise?

You might want to go to the search bar at the top of the page, and type in parasites, and see what you can find that looks like the bugs you found.

Lice are pretty small and softbodied. Did you see any egg clusters at the base of the feathers?
