Producing Eggs on a larger scale

I am not sure if this is the correct place for a question like this, I am, as you may have already guessed new to forums in general and hope this question is o.k. for this site.
I sell eggs at the School I work at, most of the time I am unable to keep up with the demand. I have been considering increasing the flock for more eggs. It seems the demand is large in our small town. I am aware of other larger producing chicken people but am wondering if it would be adventagious for me.
So, the question is to anyone out there who has increased production if they have any advice either negative or positive about increasing flock size to keep up with demand.

I imaging you'll get lots of opinions on this as I've seen other busy threads here with similar topics.
In general I'd say if demand is good and you're getting a good price, keep product quality up, have the space for more why not go for it.
IMO economy of scale is the key. You're already providing food, water, housing and labor.
Keep in mind that if you want to go away, it's not hard to find someone to care for a few birds but 100 is a different story.

As the birds age, molt, etc., you'll have to plan on replacements to keep production up.
I get $3 a dozen here and a few people told me they'd pay more.

I've increased my previous flock to meet the demand for eggs where I lived. We had to build a bigger coop to accommodate everyone, but they free ranged over acres of pasture so that wasn't an issue. Apart form that the only chance was more frequent coop cleaning to keep up with the extra mess and more frequent egg collections since we were getting lots more eggs. If you are getting hens purely for eggs go for good egg producers like Leghorns. I have 4 leghorns and they are laying daily, in spite of the short days and colder weather.
