Hello,
I’m looking to talk to anyone familiar with this breed. I bought three chicks this week, but can’t find much information about them. I know they are a Rhode Island Red/Blue Australorp cross. I know they low brown eggs, and have seen their egg hatching numbers. I am more looking for information on what they look like as they are growing. I’m trying to find a photo of both male and female chicks so I might discern between mine as they were purchased in a straight run. Where I live it is illegal to possess roosters, and I think one of my chicks may be one. Any pictures or comments would be helpful. Thanks!

I bought Production Blues a few days ago at TSC. The guy there said they lay blue eggs. As I had never heard of the breed I was unaware that he was very wrong.

I bought 3 Blues, 3 Welsummers, a white mystery chick that I believe is White Rock, and a white feather footed bantam that I believe is a silky.

I never mind if someone tells me they don't know something, but I find it really annoying when they say whatever they think wanna hear or just make stuff up.

Here are my production blues at 6 weeks old. Mine are all pullets though so I'm not sure what a cockerel would look like. One of my pullets did have a wattle growth spurt at 4 weeks but it hasnt grown any more since. All 5 of mine are a bit different. One has a ton of red on her chest.. 2 dont have any.

They told me blue eggs also but I knew they were wrong. I did a little research on them while I was shopping in the store before I got them.

I know what you mean! I got mine at TSC as well, but they admitted to me they didn’t know anything about them. It’s odd to me how little information is out there.

This is Lil Peep. She (positive thinking lol) is the only one I have a close up of yet. She’s about 6 days old.
Mine never had that much red on them as babies. They were blue and black. Heres what mine looked like when I got them. They grow quick so make sure their coop and run are ready :love
