Production red chickens

Hi all
I want to know if anyone knows if the production red chickens from TSS are red broilers or egg layers. I got a really good deal on 12 but don't want them to be egg layers since I already have enough. The people said they were meat birds but didn't seem overly confidant in that statement.

The production reds I see at TSC are usually red sex link pullets, egg layers. The only meat birds they seem to stock are the Cornish X.

Sometimes the employees can be clueless. I have two Leghorn roosters crowing outside because TSC employee said they were Cornish X.

How can I tell the roosters from pullets?

6 weeks. Males will have distinctive reddish pink combs and tiny red wattles forming under their beaks. At that age, females will have no wattles and combs will remain short and dull.
