Production Red Hen Sudden Death

I have two Red Hens, and yesterday my healthy and loud, very loud hen got very lethargic and just died last night. She was laying about every other day and her eggs were light brown and my other hen dark brown. I don't understand what happened to her. I thought at first she was over heated so I dipped her in the tub and tried to get her to drink. She had stopped eating and drinking only yesterday. My other hen is on tetracycline for a cold, and is doing much better. I had her quarantined off so my what I thought healthy hen did not catch it. She had no mites or anything. Could she have been egg bound? Just not understanding her sudden death.

I'm so very sorry for your loss! It could have been a number of things. Egg binding is a possibility. Really no way to tell unless there is a post mordum exam and something specific stands out. I'm very sorry again for your loss!
