can i make a production red chicken by crossing a new hampshire red rooster with a rhode island red hen. will mating a new hampshire rooster with a golden comet give me a golden comet.
will rhode island red hens go broody. how many eggs can an old english bantam sit on(large rhode island red eggs).
is a production red better than a golden comet for laying eggs

If you breed a RIR with a NHR, you could call it a production red. If you mate anything with a Golden Comet, you will NOT get a sexlink at all, just a more mixed breed than the Golden comet you started with. Most RIRs do not go broody, though the old lines from breeders do it more often than hatchery stock.
Any hen can usually sit on a dozen of the number she herself lays, so you'd have to guesstimate on that one.
I dont have production reds or sexlinks, so cant comment on which is a better layer.
