Is it common for production red to feather out quickly. Mine r almost six weeks old and have about half their feathers in

I've only had a few, so limited experiences. The hens were pretty tough; picked on most of the other birds, including one of the roosters. I don't plan to get any more, as I prefer mellower birds in my mixed flock. Mary

I thought they were broilers when I got them and so had them housed in the roofer with three turkeys and a dozen white broilers. I've had three broilers, one production red, and one turkey die because of the fights between them and the production reds. Although the turkey I think killed itself. Anyways because of the fighting I have had to separate the productions into their own pen. I just wanted to make sure that my batch weren't the only aggressive ones

That seems excessive to me.
But the disparate mix of birds in close confinement could be part of the problem.

What were are the ages and How are they doing by themselves?

I got them at tsc and now that they are by themselves they aren't killing eat other. They still fight and peck me of I try to hold them
